Nancy & Sluggo may have lost by a score of 10-6, but we had fun. Also, we didn't hurt ourselves, much.

Great to see Grace Lazenby, my past fitness guru, doing amazing stuff with iTrain. Thanks, Grace! http://www.itrain.com/

Okay, so I broke down and bought the iPhone 3G. (I hadn't upgraded since buying the original iPhone in 2007.) Man, this thing rocks!

I gave away 200 pounds of clothes in the last year. And I still have too many clothes. WTF? If 'clothes make the man,' I was several men.

Drip irrigation update: I have learned that it is simple in concept and hard work in fact. Exactly like a romantic relationship.

Just saw 'Every Little Step.' It's the single best documentary film I've ever seen. Period. And so appropriate on this day of epic passages.
Tonight I'm at Opera Plaza for 'Every Little Step' at 7:10. Anyone up for an MJ toast at 9PM at Max's? I'll be at the bar.
My 'drip irrigation update' too trivial at moment. Deaths of superstars seem exceptionally sad. Perhaps it's the an end-of-era thing?
Today I learn about and install a drip irrigation system. (Jealous? I know!) Stay tuned for updates from the world of garden plumbing.

Working on the laptop, on the patio, where it's 91 degrees in the shade, is not making the laptop very happy. Laptop likes AC. And AC.

It takes a long time to recover from 18 days not-spent-in-the-office. I'm still workin' on it. Time for the 4-minute ride home, and dinner.
I'm going back to my office for my first real work-day in... 18 days. Wow. I'm looking forward to it! Weird, I know...

Happy Summer Solstice! My favorite pagan feast day. Specifically, it's at 21:45 tonight. But I'm feeling pretty general these days...

Looking forward to Craigslist Foundation Boot Camp tomorrow. Yay! http://ping.fm/BLycS

Okay, so: Get Smart Radio (and Deborah Pardes) are an amazing show (and a fabulous person) who made me smarter tonight. Wow!
Wednesday, June 17, 2009
Tonight, I'm meeting up with friends at Get Smart Radio for a live taping. Tune in! Fun! http://ping.fm/KXBEe

Benny and I won two games of euchre against the trash-talking tandem of Mark/Tracy. Ben went alone to end it. A mercy killing.
What's going on in Iran may be the first Twitter-abetted revolution. http://ping.fm/gAbqx
Having a routine is great, because when I step out of it, I recognize how much I enjoy it. My routine, that is, and stepping out of it.

Dinner at Taverna Tony's was sumptuous. Plus, the best baklava ever. Ever! Did a tour, but didn't know a Colony door to knock on. Next time!
A busy morning: 1) coffee; 2) market; 3) yoga; 4) market; 5) coffee. Exhausted. Take a break and breathe a little. Stop the hectic pace!
Wonderful, quiet, blue-sky morning. No June Gloom today. Waves audible but oh-so-gentle on the beach...
Back from Bubalaires. Wonderful! Quiet night. I can hear the waves whooshing on the beach. Could put me to sleep... sleep... sleeeeeeeppppp.

More about the Bubalaires, who I am seeing tonight at Theatre Asylum on Santa Monica Blvd: http://bubalaires.com/
Tonight, the Bubalaires at LA Comedy Fest. Improv in gibberish! http://ping.fm/AKFB5
The sun is coming out. I have the house to myself. After five days of people around me, this Only Child realizes he needs alone time...

I love Joan Walsh. Read her amazing account of going on The O'Reilly Factor today. Oh, also: I love Joan Walsh! http://ping.fm/Buyl4
On my bed, an attractive brute is twitching and breathing hard. Typically, those are good things. Tonight, well, I wish it weren't Buster!
I met Karen's amazing friend, Alexandra, who I never saw in Baywatch, but who has been in Mad Men, which makes her more amazing to me...
Yoga this morning in a gracious room with floor-to-ceiling windows, a wonderful teacher, and all overlooking the beach. (What, me worry?)
It's a June Gloom day in LA. And I don't care. Off to yoga, where the only gloom is... Well, where there is no gloom.
Thursday, June 11, 2009
I'm at Karen's house, getting ready for a night with Buster and Paula. Had some wine, met Hakim (finally)... All is well.
Wednesday, June 10, 2009
Tracy and I won three games of euchre against Mark and Ben. But really, we got the cards. I had two loners. There was no stopping us...
We're going to play euchre now, on the bed at the Ramada, which is not ideal, but hey, the rooms are $49 and wifi and breakfast are free!

What is the name for the anxiety which afflicts me prior to leaving on even a short vacation? Oh, yeah: pre-vacation anxiety.
Sunday, June 07, 2009
I'm headed to Albuquerque tomorrow, then Santa Fe, and then rafting. I've never rafted before. I'm excited!
Saturday, June 06, 2009
Being human is a guest house. Every morning, a new arrival. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them laughing and invite them in.
Yoga this morning with, like, 40 people at Namaste on College. Seriously. Chocolate bars this afternoon, and pasta tonight. Good Saturday!

How many Twitterers will be in Tosca attendance at AT&T tonight? I'll be tweeting from between the mound and second base. Love the infield!
I' ready for 'Tosca' at the ballpark. Tortellini, bean salad, fresh juices, and tapioca pudding in the bag, ready for the infield...
I'm starting a brief house-sit in Oakland, in a place where Willie Mays, then Bob Maynard, used to live...
Tony Scott writes some of my most favoritest reviews. Today, "Away We Go." http://ping.fm/5hZH4

Just back from Farmer's market. Picked up some amazing samosas and a bowl of cilantro chutney. Oh-my-God. OH MY GOD. Kiss me, India!
I am at the Coddingtown mall, where I just heard a Muzak version of "Black Hole Sun." Go ahead, hum it to yourself. It works.
